Long Bay, Beef Island

Just to the north of Tortola’s International Airport and not to be confused with Long Bay on Tortola’s West End, is lesser-known Long Bay, Beef Island. This relatively quiet beach boasts a vast expanse of white sand and lovely clear waters. With the right winds, it’s also a great spot for kitesurfing. The shore is peppered with mellow little bars and sandwich shacks, some offering beach chairs for more comfortable lounging. Soon after crossing the bridge from Tortola onto Beef Island, look for a wide sandy track adjacent to the salt pond which leads to a large parking area with plenty of shade.
