With direct views across to lush and private Guana Island, beautiful Josiah’s delivers a completely different experience to visitors time of year dependent. In the summer it’s a tranquil location wonderful for swimming, snorkeling, and strolling the sandy shores to the peaceful sounds and sights of resident pelicans diving for their dinner. But seasonal swell turns the bay into a thundering expanse of white water and salty sea spray populated by avid surfers of all ages and stages. Situated a few minutes from Beef Island on Tortola’s east end and home to the popular Surf School BVI, Josiah’s Bay is easily accessible and always draws a fun crowd. Rent a board and get in on the aquatic action or watch from the cool comfort of the rustic wooden surf shack with an icy cocktail in hand.
Born in Colombia and grew up in Venezuela, where she lived on the coast. She moved to the BVI in 2001 and spent the first 14 years setting up and running a successful diving business in Jost Van Dyke.
After that, Andrea worked in the yacht industry as a crew, deckhand, and lately as a yacht chef. Sail all over the Caribbean and the Bahamas, and mostly charter in The British Virgin Islands.
Andrea always has a cheeky smile on her face and guarantees all her guests will have fun on her charters. She is skilled as a Standup Paddleboard Instructor, PADI scuba, licensed powerboat captain, and chef and is now a full-time Villa concierge and property manager.
