Your guide to the North South

The North Sound in Virgin Gorda is often known as the Billionaire’s playground of the BVI due to high net worth and celebrity status’s invest in the natural beauty the Virgin Islands has to offer.

The sound comprises of 5 islands; Virgin Gorda, Moskito Island, Necker Island, Prickly Pear and Eustatia Island and is home to some of the BVI hotspots:

Saba Rock

Saba Rock is one of the favourite places to go in the BVI as it quite literally has everything to offer from a little rock in the North Sound – a boutique hotel, a beach with a hammock, a restaurant, bar, a pool table, a spa and watersports including kitesurfing and e-foiling and of course 2 very instagrammable British phone boxes.

Bitter End Yacht Club

For nearly half a decade, The Bitter End Yacht Club (BEYC) has been the place for all things sailing and adventure giving it a world-class status amongst the sailing community. Perfectly located in the North Sound, the BEYC has recently relaunched it’s overwater bungalows called, The Lofts where guests can stay in a sailor like room made fully of sustainable materials giving the ambience of being on the water.
Outside of this, you can moor up your boat, enjoy food and drinks at the yacht club, frolick around the beach playing beach games with friends and family.

Oil Nut Bay Marina Village

Oil Nut Bay in Virgin Gorda is it’s own entity on the island that was voted as one of Forbes’ top places to visit in 2023. Not only it is home to some of the most beautiful private villas and estate’s but also a stunning marina village with Nova restaurant with the famous circle that guests take the obligatory photo in and dock for boat owners and day charters alike to moor up and enjoy a scenic culinary delight. The Marina also boasts a luxury beach resortwear shop with flowing dresses and designer swimwear to dress the part when exploring the British Virgin Islands whether by land or sea. The newest addition to the Marina is E-foiling with Deep Sea Watersports – you absolutely must give this a try.

Leverick Bay

We have a selection of luxury villas near Leverick Bay so we couldn’t miss out the on-goings at the marina. Not only does the marina offer a fresh water pool, beach, bar and restaurant for maximum relaxation but you can also enjoy something a little bit more active then you can enjoy jetskis, paddleboards and even the likes of Snuba – a clever mix for those who want a little more adventure than snorkelling but do’t have the qualification for Scuba Diving.
Finally, day charters and speed boats are available for rental at your leisure.

Andrea Gonzalez

Born in Colombia and grew up in Venezuela, where she lived on the coast. She moved to the BVI in 2001 and spent the first 14 years setting up and running a successful diving business in Jost Van Dyke.
After that, Andrea worked in the yacht industry as a crew, deckhand, and lately as a yacht chef. Sail all over the Caribbean and the Bahamas, and mostly charter in The British Virgin Islands.
Andrea always has a cheeky smile on her face and guarantees all her guests will have fun on her charters. She is skilled as a Standup Paddleboard Instructor, PADI scuba, licensed powerboat captain, and chef and is now a full-time Villa concierge and property manager.
